Siege of Charholme
The Siege of Charholme occured almost 30 years ago, during one of the most horrific winters the Zeb’dur region has ever seen. The Dwarfs of Charholme believed that due to the aggresive overland terrain and natural occuring defences, an overland assult of the city would be suicide, especially in winter. Drow intelligence, now led by Tezzeret the Seeker noted the utter lack of overland troop positions and began planning the capture of the city. Coming across The Bastion Stair during the winter was a brutal ploy, but the Drow had hired talented scouts such as Kezmil and others to guide them. Utilizing surface level caves a small strike fore of Drow was inside Upper Charholme before the Dwarfs there were even aware they were being attacked. This was however only a distraction, in the ensuing chaos of Dwarf military changing position to defend an unlikly front, the main force of Drow attacked. Surging in from tunnels in Deep Charholme, the first layer of the Dwarfen defences was overwhelmed almost immediately, but the Drow had miscalculated the effectiveness of Dwarfen cannon technology and the assult was halted almost imediately. A siege ensued with neither side gaining advantage for several months, Dwarfen texts claim that the city had supplies for over a year, yet misteriosly, the siege ended 3 months later in victory for the Drow.
